“By making PS5 available to our BT broadband and EE mobile customers, we’re able to offer them the very latest experiences in gaming. When combining the PS5 with the ultra responsive, super-fast connectivity that BT Full Fibre delivers, customers really will enjoy an amazing gaming experience,” said Alistair Wilson, Director of Devices and Partnerships, BT’s Consumer Division.

If you don’t have any luck with BT then Amazon UK will have a limited amount of PlayStation 5 consoles available on for sale on launch day. Both the digital and disc versions will be on sale and the should go live at 12pm GMT.

Those over in the US with an Xbox Series X|S preorder had the worst deal as Amazon are suggesting the console might not arrive until the start of 2021.

We’re contacting you with an update regarding your order of Xbox Series X. We expect to ship your console in the coming weeks as we receive more inventory in November and December. At this time, we anticipate that you will receive your Xbox Series X by 12/31 or before. We are making every effort to get it to you as soon as possible and apologize for any inconvenience

Over here the UK the delays seem to be shorter but people are still miffed that Amazon have moved the delivery date at such short notice, with many having taking the day off to accept the delivery including industry professionals.

BT and EE UK Customers Can Order a PlayStation 5 Tomorrow

Wednesday, November 18th, 2020 (4:25 pm) - Score 15,048

Existing customers of BT’s UK broadband or EE’s Pay Monthly mobile packages will tomorrow gain the ability to purchase one of Sony’s latest PlayStation 5 (PS5) video game consoles directly from the operator. But as with the prior Xbox deal, there won’t be any special discounts.

The new console can be purchased by BT’s broadband customers through their MyBT account. Meanwhile existing EE Pay Monthly mobile customers will also have the option to take out one of the consoles and add the cost to their price plan, split over 11 interest-free instalments with EE’s Add to Plan service. Alternatively, you could just buy it from any other retailer, provided it’s still in-stock.

Alistair Wilson, BT’s Director of Devices and Partnerships, said: “By making PS5 available to our BT broadband and EE mobile customers, we’re able to offer them the very latest experiences in gaming. When combining the PS5 with the ultra responsive, super-fast connectivity that BT Full Fibre delivers, customers really will enjoy an amazing gaming experience.”

Using BT could be a good call

If you’re a BT broadband or EE customer you have an extra chance of getting a PS5 console when it comes out tomorrow.

The PlayStation 5 launch is going to be a nightmare for anyone that hasn’t already pre-ordered one. A limited amount of new stock is expected to be available at major stores like Amazon and GAME, but it’s likely to become sold out within hours – if not minutes.

However, BT are offering an alternative to sitting there pressing the refresh button all day, with a chance for their customers to order a PlayStation 5 from tomorrow, November 19.

As long as you’ve got a MyBT account you’ll apparently be able to order a console via that, although there’s no indication of how much stock BT has access to or when they’ll be delivered.

As well as ordering a console outright EE mobile customers will also be able to buy one in 11 interest-free monthly instalments, using the EE Add to Plan.

That sounds similar to the existing Xbox All Access scheme operated by Smyths and GAME and if it is interest-free a pretty good deal for existing customers.

BT also ran a similar promotion for the Xbox Series X when it launched last week and have even collaborated with Stadia, all with the ulterior motive of promoting their own BT Full Fibre service.

Microsoft has already said that Xbox Series X and S consoles won’t be freely available till April and while Sony hasn’t been quite as specific the PlayStation 5 will likely be suffering similar shortages – although it will gradually become easier to get hold of as the months go by.
